It's not that bad

Nutritionally, this is great. It's got lots of protein and very little fat. On its own, the taste is horrid. The first few times I used this, it was disgustingly savoury. However, after mixing 4 teaspoons of banana Nesquik with it, it's absolutely fine. Regardless, though, the smell is revolting.
Goes Well With:
Banana Nesquik with oat milk.

The taste of both this and the pea protein will make you lament life, wonder if chickens might want to be eaten, and perhaps question the existence of God. Don't have it alone. I start the day with this in a smoothie; the taste is then fine: 2 bananas 60g porridge oats 1 scoop pea protein 1 scoop rice protein 50 peanut butter Handful of berries if available Almond milk or water to bring total volume to 800ml
Goes Well With:
Anything that can mask the taste.

Really surprised by the amount of people complaining about the taste, i mixed it with water and milk and it tasted just fine albeit with a slightly chalky aftertaste. It mixed wonderful with bananas, peanut and almond milk, very tasty.

Unflavoured but tastes great with or without flavouring it. I use it with water.  Mixes ok and does the job of getting a brilliant protein source without allergens. Highly recommended. I will be continuing to buy this product.

Much Better Than Whey

I don't understand all the reviews saying bad mixability and taste on here. For me anyone who's only using water and a shaker to mix their protein is an absolute mook anyway. If like a normal human you use a blender and some ingredients like almond milk, a banana, some seeds and honey it tastes great. It actually mixes in a blender much better than whey protein, because it doesn't go all foamy and feel like you're drinking a pint of creamy froth. The main thing though is that it doesn't give me a bloated or gassy feeling at all like whey does, and I certainly will never be going back.

Good for throwing back

I have recently switched to vegan shakes, the whey ones can be a bit sticky when washing the cup and I get a bit bloated. The hemp and rice I have tried have not had that issue. This one is quite chalky but the shaker with the metal thing in mixes up really well. This doesnt taste as good as a blueberry cheescake shake with cinnamon topping of course but it does get the job done. I havent tried the flavour drops but if you are looking for a cheaper alternative try vimto or any other brand of concentrated fruit drink. Pour a bit of that in and it adds enough sweetness to throw it back no problem. This isnt a three course lobster and steak meal its extra protein, pure and simple.

As far as plant protein products go it's not the best option available. The flavour is essentially concentrated brown rice, it's not undrinkable but it is a long way from pleasant. It mixes like one would expect sand to.

Choosing the best vegan protein for you it really takes time!! I've started with soy, honestly I really liked it, its dense(the chocolate and the strawberry version), becomes more like a pudding- so its feeding you and your muscles and the taste is good. However, you should note that if you are intollerant to lactose/whey protein, soy might have the same effects on you plus your body becomes resistant to soy after a while, so its good to change. I ordered this brown rice protein after as I had heard many people were using it. For me after 2 months I can say that it was not working, it caused me terrible intestinal gases and I didn't feel that my muscles are fed at all. The consistence and the taste is really like carton box soaked in water no matter how u try to flavor it. I can only state this after a month on VeganBlend protein which contains less rice- the terrible gases disappeared immediately and I feel more satisfied. Try out everything, and see it for yourself before writing terrible comments.

I use this the last 6 weeks before bodybuilding comp instead of regular whey to avoid lactose. Gritty but that's what you'd expect.
